For anyone who is starting off in Blender, I highly recommend this series. It will take you through all the basics so you will have a very good grasp of how it all works by the end

Store Page
There is an issue with the last update on the store page. The product pages are not displaying. You can still add items to the cart from the main page and checkout are still working. I am currently working with the vendor for an answer.
Update – Since I am still troubleshooting I have removed the product page template so it will display the WooCommerce default. Please be advised that Venmo is not an active payment option even though it shows on the product page
Tutorial Tuesday 1
Good morning, everyone!
So this is the first of Tutorial Tuesday and I hope you all like it. I am going to try and do it as a video for the next one but, considering I just got my computer up and running this Saturday, I didn’t have time to play with any of it.
Diving in – When I start a new model, reference sources are key to the design process. Images of the mech I am making, plus (sometimes) other industrial images that can help fill things in, and other mecha stuff just to get more ideas for shapes, joints and armor. So for this one I am doing the Dragon and was lucky enough to also find an orthographic of the mech.

What’s Coming This Week
Good morning all you early risers! Well, and late risers too if you are reading this later in the day.
Coming up this week on Tuesday will be the first of Tutorial Tuesdays. Since I have not had time to play with any recording software to see how to make a video of modeling, Tuesday will be a number of screen shots and explanations about laying out a design in blender to get your model started. Since I am making a Dragon in hard surface, I’ll be using that for the example. Later I will do one covering subdivisions, but since that is a little more work, I’ll save it for a video.
Thursday will be project updates on the two models I am working on so images will be posted no matter how far I have gotten.
I’m thinking of other things I can do here. Friday I would love to post up images of models of mine that you all have painted. I am thinking of making a gallery page for that as well to show off everyone’s work. So, if through the week you would like to send me images, I would really love that.
If you have any thoughts or ideas, please feel free to drop them in the comments.
System Outage
Hey everyone. For those of you who did not see it on the Discord side, I had more computer issues. This time it was just the power supply going belly up on me. I still had it tested to make sure and just got it back today.
So I was out of a system for a week but I am back up and running. Thinking of what I can do to make it up to all of you. I did an Axman pen holder. Any other Axman related desk items you would like? Card holder? Anything?
Tutorial Tuesday
Good morning everyone! Since I was asked for tips and things I am going to make Tuesday’s a tutorial day. To start with, let me advise you that I am old.
As in, I learned to do modeling when Zbrush was so new it was not being taught as part of the curriculum, that kind of old. I then ended up getting out of the animation field and ended up in finance (long story involving layoffs, kids, and needing money).
So, my way can be more old school and there are probably a hundred different, and better ways to do it out there, but hopefully this will help you along with the how I do my mech models and
I am not going to reinvent the wheel since there is already and source for learning to use Blender with Blender Guru’s excellent Blender Beginner Donut Series and he deserves a lot of credit here because I learned on Maya and 3DStudio Max (which I cannot afford) so his series got me up and familiar with Blender in a short period of time.
Now, there are a few addons that I use which make life a heck of a lot easier and, if you are sufficiently invested I would recommend spending the cash on them.
Boxcutter and HardOps – $38 bucks on the Blender Market but man, does it REALLY help out. Cablerator – $14 on the Blender Market. Great for doing cables, pipes with angles, and the like.
On the progress side: Powersave – $1 on Blender Market. Adds and autosave function to Blender beyond what it already has to make sure you don’t lose your progress by accident.
I know this isn’t a lot when it comes to tips and tricks, but next week I will try to have a video of how I block things in and get ready for making a model. If not a video, then there will be LOTS of screen shots.
Sunday Funday
Good Afternoon everyone! Starting on the Dragon and the Sabutai this week and I’ll be doing update posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays so you can see what progress, or lack thereof, has happened.
So, there will be more updates coming in the future. Let me know what else you would like to see? I have never tried to make video of my modeling, but if that’s what you would like I can see what I can do.
So, do you want tips on modeling? Examples of stuff? What can I do to help you? I had originally wanted that to be part of what was going on here but kinda lost sight of it with all the models I was doing.
Leave me a comment on what you would like and I’ll see what I can do
