Happy Birthday to Me

September 30th was my birthday and I got to celebrate it by putting together a new desk my wife got for me. My old desk was put together as a temporary solution about six years ago when I started working from home part time. The idea was I could put this one together in the shop really quick with materials I already had and then make something better later on.

Well, one think got in the way of another and I never got around to building something better. I will say, it had a LOT of usable space but it kinda dominated the room. The new desk, well, lets just say it is very cool and does everything I need it to do and has space to hold everything I need.

And yes, it even has a cupholder. There are LED lights on the riser shelves that I need to hook up, but I’m pretty happy with how it is right now so I am going to get back to work finishing the Dragon and working on the other two.

Thursday Progress Report

So there is progress to report (yay team me). The Dragon is coming along really well. Legs should be done tonight or tomorrow.

There is no progress yet on the Subatai but I am jumping on that this weekend. I also have progress on the Incubus which was going to be a surprise but I am terrible at keeping secrets

So that is everything for the week. There is also a Hollander being lined up next so hopefully that will be started by next week.

I know I have slowed down on the production. Work, honestly, has been overwhelming and I am applying to a new position that will hopefully bring some sanity back to my life. Prayers are appreciate on that one!

Tutorial Tuesday – Bevels, Boxcutter, and Unions

Due to formatting issue, the video is posted on the Patreon this time. I will have to look at add ons to support video over here or what format is supported.

Here is my first video ever.  Covering beveling, Booleans using Boxcutter and HardOps and joining two object using Booleans.

I highly recommend Boxcutter and HardOps.  This is not a paid endorsement or anything like that, they are just very handy and you can get it here.  Well worth the price in time saved modeling and flexibility https://blendermarket.com/products/hard-ops–boxcutter-ultimate-bundle

Any questions, comments or anything, please post them up.  First try so it may not be great, but I promise to try and improve.

Store Page

There is an issue with the last update on the store page. The product pages are not displaying. You can still add items to the cart from the main page and checkout are still working. I am currently working with the vendor for an answer.

Update – Since I am still troubleshooting I have removed the product page template so it will display the WooCommerce default. Please be advised that Venmo is not an active payment option even though it shows on the product page

Tutorial Tuesday 1

Good morning, everyone!

So this is the first of Tutorial Tuesday and I hope you all like it. I am going to try and do it as a video for the next one but, considering I just got my computer up and running this Saturday, I didn’t have time to play with any of it.

Diving in – When I start a new model, reference sources are key to the design process. Images of the mech I am making, plus (sometimes) other industrial images that can help fill things in, and other mecha stuff just to get more ideas for shapes, joints and armor. So for this one I am doing the Dragon and was lucky enough to also find an orthographic of the mech.
