Orion

So I did the shoulder launcher a little different. The LRM15 and the SRM4 are both built into the rack and separated by the beveling of the pieces. Generally the SRM4 is mounted on the lower torso separately from the LRM.

I like how it looks, but let me know what you think

  1. Ahhh…SRM4 and LRM15 makes sense now. I like it! Sorry, I’m more or an LRM20 kinda guy! On a separate note, I’m not sure if you saw my comment about maybe doing a LAM in the future? There may be some interest for a LAM in mech/gerwalk/aircraft mode.

  2. I think the all-in-one design makes a lot of sense and looks better than the canon version. I also prefer the 1-V variant, personally, so not having the SRM pod in the left torso makes it easier to get to that build. I am curious to see what your plan is for the autocannon, though.

On the subject of LAMs, I personally don’t like them on the tabletop. I appreciate the macross references and some of the visuals are pretty nifty, but as game pieces I’ve never enjoyed them very much and there’s a lot of other designs I’d like to see explored and given a bit of spit and polish. The Flashman has always looked kind of goofy but I like fielding it and I’d like to see a version which respects the heritage of the design but doesn’t look like somebody tried to make Battletech MODOK (CGL, looking at you). Similarly, the Guillotine has been done a bit dirty by its current mini, which does look very beefy and butch but misses the sort of essential angular gangly proportions of the classic art. I think there is a way to restore that sharpness to the design while updating it to something which feels at home alongside the modern range.

That being said, if there is a common outcry for LAMs I’d love to see the Pwka get done after the obligatory OG trio as the Pwka is the only one I’d be interested in fielding.
