SBR - Stormbringer - Mech Jock

Please note – This is not a canon mech.  This is a home brew that I designed.
The SBR-1S Stormbringer is a Lyran conceptualization of an updated assault-class Warhammer, inspired in almost equal parts by a pair of ‘mechs that have caused no end of trouble for the LAAF: the agile Thor and the straightforwardly mighty Warhammer IIC. The Stormbringer makes use of the very latest technologies available to combine the best elements of its closest competitors (the Falconer and the Defiance) on a single chassis.

At 85 tons, the Stormbringer is as large as is optimal for a jump-capable ‘mech. In addition to its four jump jets, it also carries a supercharger to reach a maximum flank speed of 86.4kph at crucial moments.  A light engine, an XL gyro, and an endo-steel frame were all considered to be acceptable compromises in pursuit of the Stormbringer’s eclectic but highly effective weapons payload. In the right arm, it carries the ER PPC expected of any Warhammer derivative; however, the left arm’s weapon is upgraded to a harder-hitting heavy PPC with damage output comparable to Clan-tech particle cannons. The shortrange missile rack and clusters of light weaponry customarily carried in the side torsos of Warhammer variants have been omitted, with their places being taken by a thunderous RAC/5 on the right side and a pair of extended-range flamers on the left, along with two tons of autocannon cartridges protected by CASE II. Twelve and a half tons of standard armor offer protection that is somewhat light for the Stormbringer’s weight, but perfectly adequate given its mobility. Finally, its fourteen double heat sinks allow for sustained use of the autocannon and heavy PPC with intermittent volley-firing of the ER PPC.
